Products & Collections

Once your Shopify store is synced with Manifest, your product catalog is automatically imported and trained for your AI assistant. You can view and manage these products from the ‘Products’ tab in the ‘Training’ section of the Manifest dashboard.

If you do not want your assistant to answer questions about a specific product, simply toggle OFF its visibility in the product list.


Products table overview

  1. Search
    Quickly search for products using their name.

  2. Visibility Filter
    Filter products based on whether they are visible to the assistant.

  3. Collection Filter
    Filter products by the collection they belong to.

  4. Meta-fields
    Any synced Shopify meta-fields are displayed at the top of the product table.

  5. Product Name
    The name of the product as listed in Shopify.

  6. Collection Name
    The collection the product belongs to.

  7. Product Description
    Displays the description fetched from Shopify.

  8. FAQs
    Shows the number of FAQs linked to the product.

    • You can add new questions via ‘Add FAQs’ or directly from the FAQ view modal using ‘Add Question’.

  9. Tags
    Shopify tags applied to the product.

  10. Meta-fields
    Product-specific meta-fields synced from Shopify.

  11. Test
    Use this to simulate how the AI assistant responds to product-related queries.

  12. Visibility
    Toggle visibility ON/OFF to include/exclude the product from AI responses.

  13. Best Sellers
    Toggle OFF to exclude the product from best-seller recommendations.

  14. Actions

  • Configure out-of-stock product recommendations.

  • Sync meta-fields.

15. Bulk Actions
Select multiple products using checkboxes to:

  • Add FAQs in bulk.

  • Change visibility settings collectively.


Collections

The Collections tab allows you to manage which product groups your assistant is trained on — at a collection level.

  • Disabling visibility for a collection will:

    • Prevent product recommendations from that collection.

    • Disable the Manifest widget visibility on the respective collection page.

    • Turn off visibility for associated products in the Products table.

    • Disable “Browse another collection” for that collection if “Recommend in Chat” is OFF.

  1. Search
    Find collections using collection name.

  2. Sync Filter
    Filter collections based on their sync status.

  3. Recommended Filter
    Filter by collections based on their recommended status.

  4. Sync Button
    Use this to manually sync collection data.

  5. Catalog Name
    Displays the name of the collection.

  6. Sync Toggle
    Enable/disable syncing of a particular collection.

  7. Recommended Toggle
    Enable/disable recommendations from a particular collection.

  8. Bulk Actions
    Select multiple collections using checkboxes to:

    • Enable/disable sync.

    • Enable/disable recommendations via the contextual menu.


Syncing Meta-fields

Meta-fields enhance product search and allow the assistant to provide more accurate answers when asked about custom product properties.

Meta-fields Table

  1. Meta-fields: Name of the meta-field.

  2. Available for: Number of products that include this meta-field.

How to Sync Meta-fields

  1. Go to the Products tab in the Manifest dashboard.

  2. Click ‘Actions’‘Manage Meta-fields’.

  3. Browse or search for available meta-fields.

  4. Select the ones you want to sync.

  5. Click ‘Sync with Manifest’.

  6. Synced meta-fields will now be visible in the product table.


Handling Out-of-Stock Products

You can control how out-of-stock products appear to buyers through a configurable setting.

Options Available

  1. Show with out-of-stock label
    Products are still recommended, with a visible “Out of Stock” label.

  2. Show as normal
    Out-of-stock products are shown as regular products.

  3. Don’t show at all
    Completely remove out-of-stock products from recommendations.

How to Configure

  1. Navigate to the Products tab.

  2. Click ‘Actions’‘Handle Out-of-Stock Products’.

  3. Choose your preferred configuration.

  4. Click ‘Save’.

  5. Test the settings by searching for a product on the buyer side.


Best Sellers

Best Sellers are shown when users ask, “What are your best-selling products?” You can manually configure these products to ensure full control over what’s recommended.

If not configured, the AI will default to sales data.

How to Add Best Sellers:

  1. Go to the Products tab.

  2. Click on the ‘Best Sellers’ tab.

  3. Click ‘Add Products’ and choose products via the product picker.

  4. Click ‘Add’ to confirm.

  5. To remove, use the Delete icon.

  6. Test the setup by asking your assistant about best sellers.


FAQs

1) How do I prevent the assistant from showing or answering about a specific product?
Go to the Products tab and toggle Visibility OFF for the desired product.

2) What does disabling a collection do?
Disabling a collection:

  • Hides all products within it from AI responses.

  • Removes the Manifest widget from the collection’s page.

  • Stops the collection from being recommended in chat.

3) How do I test if the AI is answering product-related queries correctly?
Use the ‘Test’ button available in the product table to simulate and validate AI responses.

4) How do I add product-specific FAQs?
While adding a FAQ, enable the ‘Question asked is specific to some products’ checkbox, then select the relevant products.
Note: If the intent is Product Details, adding a product is mandatory—otherwise, an error will appear.

5) Can I control which products are shown as best sellers?
Yes. Navigate to Best Sellers, click Add Products, and choose what to show. The AI will then only recommend those.
