The AI Product Assistant allows your customers to ask detailed, product-specific questions directly from the product page, helping them make confident purchase decisions without leaving the page.

This smart widget is designed to provide real-time support related to product details and store information, making it a valuable tool to increase engagement and conversions.

Key Notes

  • The AI Product Assistant is available only on product pages.

  • It supports questions related to:

    • Product details

    • Store information (e.g., shipping, returns, hours)

  • For product search queries, it displays product names and plain text onlyno product cards are shown.

  • For agent handover queries, the message “Click here to Continue” appears. Clicking this opens the standard Manifest chat embed.


Steps to Configure AI Product Assistant

Method 1: From Manifest Dashboard

  1. Navigate to AI Product Assistant Embed in the Manifest dashboard.

  2. Click on ‘Configure’.

Method 2: From Shopify Theme Editor

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.

  2. In the top dropdown, select Products > Default product.

  3. Click Add Section at the bottom.

  4. Select AI Product Assistant under the Apps section.

  5. Position it (ideally below the product description).

  6. Customize the widget as needed.

  7. Click Save.


Customisation Options (via Manifest Dashboard)

To style the assistant as per your brand:

  1. Navigate to ‘Interactive Content’ in the Manifest dashboard.

  2. Select the Embeds tab.

  3. Choose ‘AI Product Assistant’.

  4. Click on the ‘Customization’ option.

  5. You can modify the following:

    • Width

    • Font family

    • Border radius

    • Embed alignment

    • Header visibility

    • Input placeholder text

  6. After making changes, click Save.

You can now visit any product page on your Shopify store and see the AI Product Assistant in action.


View Analytics

To measure the performance and impact of the AI Product Assistant:

  1. Go to the Analytics section in the Manifest dashboard.

  2. Select the ‘Manifest Features’ tab.

  3. Under ‘Embeds’, find ‘AI Product Assistant’.

  4. Analyze how it contributes to customer engagement and revenue.


FAQs

1) Will it recommend other products during a search?

Yes. But product search queries, it only returns product names as text—no cards or visuals are shown.

2) What happens for agent handover queries?

The assistant shows a “Click here to Continue” message. Clicking it opens the main Manifest chat block for further conversation.

3) What kind of questions does it support?

It supports:

  • Product-specific queries (e.g., materials, sizing, availability)

  • Store-related information (e.g., shipping, return policies)

4) Where does the AI Product Assistant appear?

It only appears on product pages once the embed is added and configured via the theme editor.
